hello, i’m ali drucker.
all of you is welcome here - your shadows & your light…
…your heart, your mind, your body; your identities and your paradoxes; your connection to something beyond your self. Let us discover what radically-integrated therapy can offer you.
As a neurodivergent, queer, and biracial therapist, I’ve seen a lot and can hold a lot. No matter who you are and how you identify, know that all of you is welcome here.
Maybe self-love is feeling out of reach right now. But how would it feel to simply meet yourself with friendly curiosity? Because when we can hold both the shadows and the light within us - we can finally experience ourselves as whole. We can finally welcome the lost parts of ourselves home.
the pillars of this work
-
Mindfulness is simply “the awareness that arises from paying attention, on purpose, in the present moment and non-judgmentally,” according to John Kabat-Zinn, founder of the Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction program at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center. While therapy often focuses on your past and future, our sessions will also include a variety of mindfulness practices to help you strengthen your capacity to connect to the present moment to help you experience safety, joy, focus, connection, and embodiment.
-
Transpersonal means “beyond personal.” In session, we can include experiences that go beyond your everyday “you”, or sense of self. We can include the parts of you that connect to your community, activism and belonging. We can include parts of you that connect to non-ordinary states of consciousness - psychedelics (not offered in session), breath work, ecstatic experiences - and we can connect to your religion or spirituality if that feels good for you. I will do my best to honor and include your spiritual practice or religion. While we can explore the challenging elements of everyday life, we can also go beyond the mundane to connect to life beyond your narrative self.

“Gestalt” can be loosely translated from German to mean “whole.” Gestalt therapy honors the wholeness and wisdom of the client, beyond diagnosis or dysfunction, and focuses on the “here and now” experience of the client and therapist more than describing past events. Parts work and somatic processing are central to Gestalt, which draws heavily from Taoism to emphasize harmony and present-moment awareness.

Somatic psychotherapy is built on the idea that the mind and the body are deeply interconnected. While some parts of our sessions will include a lot of talking and thinking, there will also be experiential exercises that place intentional focus on body sensation. Experiences of safety, wellbeing, connection, fear, sadness, and anxiety show up in our body as physical sensation. In our work together, we will work to help you explore the connection between your mind and body so that you can discover new resources for emotional regulation.
Sometimes, working with the inner territory of our mind can heal discomfort in the body. Sometimes, connecting to our body can help process and heal our painful thoughts and emotions. I do weave in more cognitive and behavioral modalities (like MBCT, DBT, ACT) when needed.

ACT is a mindfulness-based behavioral therapy that emphasizes psychological flexibility and with the goal to guide a client to: “Be present, open up, and do what matters” for them. ACT has been used as an evidence-based model to treat a variety of issues including trauma, anxiety and depression, chronic pain, and gender dysphoria / marginalization.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based protocol for PTSD, complex trauma, and other trauma-related issues. Somatic EMDR moves beyond traditional protocol to allow for a wider range of bilateral stimulation beyond eye movement. We stimulate both hemispheres of your brain through sound or movement of your eyes, arms, legs, or whole body in order to reprocess traumatic memories and harmful thoughts in a new way. You may have new, more positive insights about the event and your capacity for resilience, and you may feel less sensitive to memories or reminders of the event moving forward. The memory loses its power over your emotional state and your nervous system.
All client work is built on a foundation of the principles of anti-oppression, neurodiversity, and sex-positivity. I work with clients of all faith and wisdom traditions as these principles guide me.
1:1 somatic psychotherapy
Maybe you’re moving through grief, trauma, depression or anxiety. Maybe you’re trying to find your place in this world as a queer, neurodivergent, or marginalized person. Through a blend of mindfulness, somatic psychotherapy, EMDR and parts work, I’m here to help you heal your wounds, embody your truth, and come home to your wholeness.
1:1 sex therapy
If I had it my way, there’d be no such thing as “sex therapy”, as our sexuality is such an integral part of our being. As such, this offering is for anyone 13+ who lives in a body, a safe space to explore the beautiful spectrum of gender, sexuality and intimacy. Together, we can process any sexual or identity-based trauma, or explore the evolution of your sexuality - no matter what season of life you’re in.
